They are especially dedicated to prescribing contact lenses for control of myopia in children (orthokeratology), and have extensive experience in prescribing specialty contact lenses for kertatoconus and corneal disease. Their full service optical offers a full array of eyewear options for all ages and budgets. They have an extensive selection of glasses for children as well as designer frames and sun wear. They utilize the latest in digital lens technology providing the sharpest vision, eye protection, and thin lens comfort.
Meet Our Doctors
Brianna Rhue OD, FAAO
Brianna Rhue, OD, FAAO, a board-certified optometric physician, brings her expertise in diagnosing and managing ocular diseases to West Broward Eyecare Associates in Tamarac, Florida. Among her specialties are myopia control (orthokeratology), management of keratoconus, diabetic eye care, and treatments for glaucoma and diseases of the cornea. She is a nationally recognized leader in Myopia Management, lecturing extensively throughout the year, and is currently a key principal investigator in the study of myopia management.
Dr. Rhue earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson before earning her Doctorate of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University in Broward County, Florida. She completed residency training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
During her optometry education, Dr. Rhue also donated her time and services providing eye care to under-served populations in Peru, Trinidad, and Guatemala.
In addition to treating patients at West Broward Eyecare Associates, Dr. Rhue is the immediate past president of the Broward County Optometric Association and was awarded the Florida Optometric Association Local Society Member of the year in 2019. She is an active member of the Broward County Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
Outside the office, Dr. Rhue enjoys spending time with her husband, playing tennis and golf, yoga, and traveling.
Sara Rasekhi, OD
Dr. Sara Rasekhi, OD, is a certified optometric physician who focuses on managing a variety of ocular diseases, fitting custom contact lenses for keratoconus, and myopia control at West Broward Eyecare Associates.
Dr. Rasekhi received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida International University. She received a Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University where she completed an externship at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She graduated from her residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the VA New Jersey Healthcare System in 2019 and continued on to work in private practice.
Dr. Rasekhi is an active member of the Florida Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Originally from Miami, Dr. Rasekhi enjoys traveling, playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with her Husband and family in South Florida.
Isabel Carvajal, OD
Isabel Carvajal, OD, is a certified optometric physician specialized in fitting custom therapeutic contact lenses for keratoconus, bifocal contact lenses, and cosmetic contact lenses for her patients at West Broward Eyecare Associates in Tamarac, Florida.
Dr. Carvajal earned her bachelor’s degree at Florida International University in Miami. She then started her career as an ophthalmic technician while furthering her education to include a Bachelor of Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University in Broward County, Florida.
While completing her ocular disease externship at the Miami VA Hospital, she received extensive training in the treatment and management of ocular diseases, co-management of LASIK refractive surgery, cataracts, and oculoplastic surgery. Dr. Carvajal is certified to practice “full-scope” optometry, including surgery co-management and acute eye care.
Dr. Carvajal is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Florida Optometric Association. She speaks English and Spanish.
When she’s not treating patients, Dr. Carvajal enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and dancing.
